ALLON4 MEXICO CANCUN - Dental Destinations Cancun .png

Welcome to Cancun’s longest Established and Respected ALLON4 Dental Implant rehabilitation specialists and preferred choice to hundreds of national and International patients seeking compliant, predictable and lasting ALLON4 and ALLON6 Dental Implant treatment solutions. Our Cancun dental clinic and specialists have been providing highly detailed and precision planned ALLON4 and ALLON6 dental rehabilitations for more than 2 decades in Cancun Mexico, and the large majority of these patients regularly travel from the United States and Canada to undergo these specific dental Implant treatments under our guidance and specialist services.

It is never about Volume of treatments it is always about Quality of Care.

You have read about the ALLON4 and ALLON6, You have probably researched and watched videos, checked forums and spoke to friends, even your dentist, and yet you may still feel lost on what they are and what their purposes are for patients.

Do not worry, you are certainly not alone and we will try to explain a little bit more and a little less technical (for this purpose) to hopefully give you a better understanding of what these dental Implant treatments are, what they aim to achieve and who can benefit from them.

One of the Most Important Pieces of Advice we can give to patients is to only undergo Dental Implant treatments and especially Complete Oral Rehabilitations like the ALLON4 and ALLON6 with Experienced, Qualified and skilled dental Implant specialists who have a proven history, Credentials and resume in this specific dental treatment field. This is more important if you are thinking of traveling to Cancun Mexico or any country that you may not be 100% familiar with.

Regaining your Quality of Life

One Implant at a time

The ALLON4 and ALLON6 Dental Implant techniques performed in cancun allow patients to regain their Quality of life back, for whatever reason you may find yourself missing teeth, wearing dentures had a traumatic accident or health issues that have led you to be researching options of not only having functioning teeth but a smile you will be proud to show off. These treatments are designed to replace full arches of teeth placed over 4 or 6 dental implants.

  • Improved appearance. Dental implants look and feel like your own teeth. And because they are designed to fuse with bone, they become permanent.
  • Improved speech. With poor-fitting dentures, the teeth can slip within the mouth causing you to mumble or slur your words. Dental implants allow you to speak without the worry that teeth might slip.

  • Improved comfort. Because they become part of you, implants eliminate the discomfort of removable dentures.

  • Reduces Bone reabsorption and limits the chances of further treatments necessary in the future for Implants like bone grafting

  • Easier eating. Sliding dentures can make chewing difficult. Dental implants function like your own teeth, allowing you to eat your favorite foods with confidence and without pain.

  • Improved self-esteem. Dental implants can give you back your smile and help you feel better about yourself.

  • Improved oral health provided by better dietary intake and options

  • Durability. Implants are very durable and will last many years. With good care, many implants last a lifetime.

  • Convenience. Removable dentures are just that; removable. Dental implants eliminate the embarrassing inconvenience of removing dentures, as well as the need for messy adhesives to keep them in place.

All dental Implant treatments are specialized and require experienced dental specialists to properly and correctly plan, perform and provide predictable outcomes for patients, here we try to break it down a little and to simplify them a little so you may have a better understanding of what they are.

What Are Dental Implants?

So to start from the beginning , Dental Implants are most commonly Titanium screw shaped pieces that come in a number of sizes, Dental implants act as artificial tooth roots that are placed into your jaw bone and become fused to the bone, this is called Osseointergration, but basically means the bone knits together with this screw forming a solid foundation for which a Crown, Bridge can be placed usually after an initial healing period of 4 months, which is the optimal time for the bone to knit (Osseointergrate with the bone) Dental Implants are the only dental restoration that actually preserves natural bone and stimulates bone growth.

One of the Most Important Pieces of Advice we can give to patients is to only undergo Dental Implant treatments and especially Complete Oral Rehabilitations like the ALLON4 and ALLON6 with Experienced, Qualified and skilled specialists who have a proven history and Credentials in this specific dental treatment field. This is more important if you are thinking of traveling to Cancun Mexico or any country that you may not be 100% familiar with.

ALLON4 and ALLON6 Dental Implant special

THE ALLON4 Dental Implant Technique

The ALLON4 is a  technique invented using Nobel Biocare in conjunction with a Dr Malo which allows patients who are missing or are about to loose all their teeth, a solution to replace a whole arch (Upper or lower) or both over only 4 Dental Implants.

How is this possible, well it comes down to the placement of the 4 Dental Implants , the 2 front ones are placed parallel and the 2 back dental Implants are placed at a tilted angel of 45 degrees.

Although this may not seem such a groundbreaking treatment to those of us who are not dentists or dental Implant specialists, this specific placement of the 4 implants gives tremendous support and most importantly this technique avoids the need for bone grafting.

For the upper arch, two implants are located in the front of the mouth in the cortical bone beneath the nose where dental bone is naturally strongest. Another two implants are inserted at an angle, tilted distally, in the back of the mouth. These tilted implants engage the mesial wall of the sinuses for superior spread stability.

For the lower arch, the same implant strategies apply with two implants located towards the front and two in the rear tilted at an angle. Implant insertion location and angles are unique to each patient and are heavily influenced by pre-surgical consultations.

Disadvantages of the ALLON4

  • The molar areas of your mouth have the strongest bite force. However, All-on-4 Technique dental implants cannot be placed in such regions of the mouth.

  • The All-on-4 implant procedure requires that the patient have a high level of bone in order to hold and secure the implants for the long-term.

  • Bone reabsorption is common in the posterior areas as there are no Implants placed there.

The ALLON6 is another name for a full arch Oral rehabilitation but as the number suggest this is achieved over 6 Implants and not 4 and does not depend on a 45 degree angulation of any dental implants, The ALLON6 is favored by many dental specialists due to the increased number of implants placed, this is because if a dental Implant failed to osseointergrate on an ALLON4 the complete arch is lost as the 3 remaining implants cannot support. If an Implant fails on the ALLON6 the arch is still functional due to the remaining 5 implants in place.

Disadvantages of the ALLON6

  •  The cost increases due to the increase amount of Implants needed

  •  Bone grafting is often required

Not all dental Imaging is created equal, true they all have their designated uses and when it comes to the ALLON4 and ALLON6 the CT Scan is what your dental Implant specialist needs.

The importance of the correct type of imaging needed for the ALLON4 and ALLON6 treatments cannot be underestimated (and Implant treatments in general)

It is not recommended that you have any dental implant treatments performed without first having a CT Scan taken along with additional digital xrays.

A diagnostic CT scan is vital for the accurate, precise, and safe placement of the implants itself with as few complications as possible. Essentially, a CT scan before a dental implant procedure will significantly improve the likelihood of a seamless, successful procedure

Why panoramic X-ray image is not enough?

Panoramic images are magnified and distorted whereas Cone beam images provide undistorted and accurate views of the jaws. As a result the use of panoramic images to perform measurements is unreliable. Another key difference is that CT images provide different views (cross-sectional, axial, coronal, sagittal, etc.) while panoramic x-rays provide only one view with all structures between the x-ray tube and the image detector superimposed on one another. This allows CT images to separate out the various structures.

What are the Main Applications of CT Imaging?

Dental Implants:
3D CT scans allow the surgeon and restorative dentist to optimally plan and place dental implants.

Pre-operative- identifying important landmarks like inferior dental nerve and maxillary sinus. To determine bone volume and density for optimum 3 dimensional placmenent.

Am I a Candidate for the ALLON4 or ALLON6 ?

The clinical evaluation or pre operative planning is key to the success of any and all dental Implant treatments including detailed evaluations, specialized ct imaging in determining what specific dental Implant treatment course is best for a predictable outcome designed for the patients exact case, Just because a patient wants a specific type of treatment  does not mean that it is the optimal choice for them. Any dental Implant surgery Involves a personalized review and customized plan as everyone is different and there is never a one size fits all treatment.

Steps in getting the ALLON4 or ALLON6 in Cancun

We ask all prospect patients to forward as much corroborating information about their case as possible including recent treatment plans, dentist evaluations and very importantly Xrays / CT Scans so our specialists can review and provide professional recommendations.

In our Cancun clinic we can perform all necessary diagnostic and clinical evaluations with computer guided surgical planning and guides and treatment presentations happily, but if you like the majority our our patients want to have a good idea of what to expect in your surgical and rehabilitations with us and most importantly accurate costs to limit any unnecessary financial surprises, investing in a exploratory evaluation with your local dental specialists and having real recent information on your current case will certainly make a big difference in the levels of detailed planning we can provide.

Each treatment is usually (depending on specific cases) set over 2 stages 1st Surgical 2nd Prosthetic or Final Rehabilitation over 2 separate visits to Cancun. Each stay we request a minimum of 10 days each visit and these are usually spaced between 4 and 6 months from initial surgical visit.

Feature & Benefits

  • Has resiliency that reduces impact forces so that it is not transferred to the implant.

  • Easily repaired should you sustain trauma, which is a great advantage.

  • It does stain over a period of time, but this can be readily cleaned and polished.

  • This prosthetic denture is made of cured acrylic base; teeth can be dislodged; however, they are easily repaired.

  • Acrylic is generally cheaper and lighter, but won't last as long as zirconia.

  • Acrylic teeth have the longest track record.

  • May wear and will chip, but they are easily repaired in a few days.

  • Wear faster than natural teeth, but will not wear opposing natural teeth.

Features and Benefits

  • This is the option with the greatest combination of strength and cosmetics.

  • Most patients feel this is the option that is the closest to the feel of their natural teeth.

  • It has been around for approximately 10 years.

  • As far as durability, zirconia will tend to be the most durable option and will be least likely to chip.

When a full zirconia hybrid fractures, it must be remade in its entirety.

What is a Surgical Guide?

You may have come across the words surgical guides while researching the ALLON4 and ALLON6, these are the latest advancement in Implant surgery technology and are created by taking Impressions of the patients mouth and desired dental implant site and when used in conjunction with CT scan and the special software which is used to perform a virtual implant surgery (or planning the optimal place the Implants should be placed) The Guide is fabricated by our laboratory and allows the dental Implant specialist to place the implants into the bone with maximum accuracy as the guide is placed in the patients mouth and fitted in place allowing the surgical drills to place the implant at the exact location that ws deemed perfect for the implant.

What are the Advantages of the Surgical Guide in the ALLON4 - 6 Implant surgery?

Principally it is the accuracy that this planning and guide gives to the dentist placing the implants allowing predictable results for the case as well as reducing the actual surgical time in the chair, reduces the invasiveness of the surgery which in turn reduces the trauma to the surgical site and decreases pain and swelling meaning a shorter recovery time.

Here we list some Post Surgical feelings or issues that can face patients in Cancun after the ALLON4 or ALLON6 , These are not always common and many patients finish surgery and have not issues whatsoever, but being prepared and understanding what possibilities you may face can help you better prepare and better understand the surgical and healing process so as not to feel anxious or unnecessarily scared of certain feelings associated with dental surgery. It I also Important to remember that when under going such treatments with us we will be on hand 24/7 and ready to answer any and all questions you may have so you can be confident during your recuperation in Cancun.

Oozing of the surgical sites

Slight bleeding or oozing is common from surgical sites, but not heavy bleeding, Use the gauze provided and place over the sites and bite down gently,  try sitting upright, avoid physical activity, and put ice packs on the outside of your mouth. If this continues call the clinic to schedule an appointment.

Swelling is a normal part of getting surgery, and it will reach its climax usually 48 hours s after the procedure. This can make patients a bit worried as they had none for the first 2 days and then it starts so they think there must be a problem, but this is very common taking any medication prescribed will help inflammation and Using ice or a cold pack on the surgical sites (on the face) within the 24 hours following the procedure can help control it (20 minutes on and 20 minutes off).

You have undergone major dental surgery and while techniques are used to limit unecessary pain this is an unavoidable part of dental surgery, you will be provided with prescriptions for pain medication, but if you believe you have a low tolerance and regularly take stronger types of pain medication we recommend you bring your own, just make sure you make the doctor aware.

Sharp feeling

You may feel a strange something sharp in your mouth, this could be the bony walls that used to support the now missing teeth, if this continues to cause issue speak with the dentist but often is temporary.

Your Diet

Many large case Surgeries like the ALLON procedures are recommended (depending on the patients case) to undergo a very strict diet change for at least a few weeks and maybe longer depending on the doctors recommendations. Some diets may need to be completely liquid, then soft and working up to more solid food. Some patients have no issues, The main important factor is to ensure that after surgery you maintain vitamin, mineral and nutrient intake to aid your healing and overall recuperation.

Feeling sick

You may experience nausea or even vomiting from any accidentally swallowed blood or as part of the secondary effects of Sedation if elected, Take it easy have a companion with you and monitor how you feel post surgery.

Dry Lips

Because of the length of surgery and the manner of which your mouth will be open for extended periods, your lips can get dry and feel sore and cracked, lip balm, chapstick can help alleviate this discomfort.

Sore Throat

Because your mouth may be open most of the time because of the gauze, this can lead to a sore throat, making swallowing painful. This is a passing symptom, usually going away after a few days.

Stiff Muscles

Your jaw muscles may become stiff, because of the time your mouth is open for extended periods, relax and slowly stretch your jaw every now and then will help get rid of the stiffness.

Is there a chance I need to visit Cancun more than 2 times?

Depending on the patients Individual Oral condition certain ALLON4 and ALLON6 Treatments may require 3 separate visits to Cancun to complete the treatments. If a patient is in need of extensive dental extractions, Sinus elevations or large scale bone grafting which means it is not optimal to place Implants,  the first Trip would be the preparation of extractions, grafting, sinus elevations , the Second visit placement of Implants and temporary fixed arch, and the third the Final Permanent Fixed arch. This again reiterates the importance of Pre operative planning and the gathering of all the data necessary to plan every aspect of the Allon4 and Allon6 Surgery.
